Here are great examples from a number of customers who presented at MongoDB.local Bengaluru event:
First is Physics Wallah (PW), which has built one of India’s leading edtech platforms on MongoDB. Today, PW serves over 7 million students, and their app has been downloaded over 10 million times.
The latest offering from Physics Wallah is a unified, compliant, multi-tenant payment platform—PW Payments—that is powered by MongoDB Atlas. To build a scalable and compliant fintech architecture rapidly, PW established two primary design principles: configuration over code (No-Code/Low-Code) and strict tenant isolation.
MongoDB Atlas’s capabilities, including ACID transactions, allowed PW to wrap all financial flows in strict ACID transactions across multiple collections. With MongoDB Change Streams, it’s easy to keep track of every configuration edit, payment state modification, and system event to generate an immutable audit trail for regulatory bodies (i.e., RBI). Finally, MongoDB Search provides native full-text search capabilities across hundreds of business models, users, and rule configurations, eliminating the need for a separate data lake search infrastructure.

The ability to scale can directly impact whether an organization can succeed, particularly in industries such as E-commerce. Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce giants, is a great example: with MongoDB Atlas, they were able to make great scale happen by supporting high-throughput write operations, real-time payment aggregation, and seamless horizontal sharding during mega sales events like The Big Billion Days. Furthermore, MongoDB Change Streams and aggregation pipelines allow the team to maintain strict data integrity throughout real-time data updates and analysis.
Another SaaS leader using MongoDB Atlas is IBS Software. For IBS Software, scale hasn’t been the only challenge to overcome—the company provides mission-critical technology to the global travel and logistics industries, and requires an infrastructure that can reliably support thousands of enterprise customers and millions of transactional data assets.
With MongoDB’s flexible document model and sharding capabilities, IBS Software scaled three mission-critical platforms at once: its hospitality platform iStay; its cruise platform iTravel Cruise; and Loyalty Offer Management, its loyalty and retailing system. With MongoDB, IBS Software is able to process billions of records and millions of searches per day on its hospitality platform, with API responses of less than 100ms. iTravel Cruise is now able to process selling price writes of 100,000 TPS within an average latency of 5 milliseconds, and the company can provide extreme reliability to its customers with uptime guarantees of 99.99% on the cloud.

Finally, some companies operating in heavily regulated industries need even greater control. MongoDB Enterprise Advanced (EA) is the most flexible way to run MongoDB on-premises with powerful tools for automation, operations, and security in a self-managed environment.
For example, MongoDB EA is used by companies like Kore.ai, which provides an enterprise conversational AI platform that serves regulated industries (e.g., banking, healthcare, retail) that demand high availability, strict security, and low-latency interaction. As Kore.ai shared during their presentation at MongoDB .local, MongoDB EA’s reliability enables the company to maintain 24/7 operational continuity and high availability across complex enterprise deployments.
Another example is PineLabs, a leading merchant commerce platform with operations across Asia that uses both MongoDB Atlas and MongoDB Enterprise Advanced to handle extreme scaling, high-throughput transaction processing, and rapid data growth across its fintech ecosystem. Using MongoDB ensures mission-critical uptime across payment processing pipelines, particularly during massive traffic surges and peak sales periods.

These Indian organizations are proving that with MongoDB, scale, speed, and regulatory compliance don’t have to be mutually exclusive. As AI continues to reshape how digital services are built and delivered at scale—and as regulatory compliance requirements keep growing—there’s no question that organizations that don’t modernize will be left behind. But those who take advantage of the flexibility of the document model to build a powerful intelligent data platform will have the infrastructure they need to thrive in the AI era.
